Salome Agbaroji

7th National Youth Poet Laureate of the United States

Salome Agbaroji is the 7th National Youth Poet Laureate of the United States. This Nigerian-American spoken word poet has performed for U.S. President Joe Biden and White House, the United Nations, the Golden Globes, NFL Halftime Show, and many more. She was the youngest speaker at the TED 2025 conference titled Humanity Reamigned, where she delivered a poem about how to ethically and humanistically approach new technological frontiers. She was an Ambassador for Vans’ 2023 global brand campaign championing the power of creativity and expression. Currently a student at Harvard College, her focuses outside of poetry include promoting educational equity and literacy, advocating for the importance of the arts, empowering marginalized groups, and more. With her powerful poems, insightful perspective, and lovable eccentricity, Salome’s words are truly a force.
